This is Chris’ 1st year coaching the Lake Land Cheerleaders. With 5 returning cheerleaders and 9 new, Chris is looking forward to a great year and continuing the tradition her predecessor, Tammy Boeser, set.

This team doesn’t limit their spirit to the court but is involved in the community and College. Some of these activities include performing at the Special Olympics Family Festival, volunteering at the Coles County Relay for Life, supporting many events on campus, and hosting two major events for the Mattoon Academy of Gym & Dance where they train.

In addition to her coaching duties, Chris is an Administrator at the College, serving as the Director of Auxiliary.  She is a 1984 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Management.

Chris and her husband, Dr. Terry Ward, live in Mattoon. They have two children, Brett and Lindsey.
