Mr. Beals is in his third season as Athletic Trainer at Lake Land College.  He comes to Mattoon following more than four years of service in Terre Haute, IN working as an athletic trainer for a group of orthopedic surgeons.

Thomas graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana State University in Terre Haute with a bachelor’s degree  in Athletic Training and a minor in Business Administration.  He received the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Research and Education Scholarship while at ISU.  He began his educational career at Lake Land College, where he received an associate degree in Pre-Physical Therapy.  While at Lake Land College, he was a two-time baseball letter winner and was named an Academic All-American in 1998 by the NJCAA.  He was also honored as a RR Donnelley and Sons National Merit Scholar.

Also a graduate of Lake Land College, his wife Nicole currently teaches computer skills at Charleston Middle School.  They have a son, Logan and a daughter, Avery.
