Lake Land College offers a variety of community courses this February

The Lake Land College office of Community and Professional Programs will offer several community courses throughout the month of February. Find a new hobby, brush up on a skill and have some fun with Lake Land College!
The course details and information are as follows:
• Learn the Rumba and wow others on the dance floor while dancing to music from the Beatles to Brooks and Dunn! Slow and easy are words that describe this Latin favorite. Learn basic steps and patterns in a fun learning environment with Cheryl and Scott Sweet. No dance experience is necessary and no partner is needed, but is suggested. Rumba for Beginners, CE-RECR190-31749 will meet Feb.16 – March 9 from 4:10 – 5 p.m., in Effingham at E.M.A. The cost is $36. CE-RECR-190-31949 will meet Feb.16 – March 9 from 1:10 – 2 p.m. in West Building Atrium on the Lake Land campus. The cost is $36.
• If you have already taken Triple Swing for Beginners, then join Cheryl and Scott Sweet for Triple Swing Next Level to learn more fun moves and step variations. CE-RECR-196-31750 will meet Feb. 16 – March 9 from 2:10 – 3 p.m. in West Building Atrium on the Lake Land campus. The cost is $36. CE-RECR196-31751 will meet Feb. 16 – March 9 from 5:10 – 6 p.m. in Effingham at E.M.A. The cost is $36.
• The time to plan for your child’s education is today! Discuss current and future education costs, explore educational savings alternatives and review common investments used for education planning. Join Gary Swearingen from Feb. 4 – 19 from 7 – 8 p.m. in Webb Hall, room 107 and start Building an Education Fund, CE-FIN$147-31765. The cost is $25.
• Experienced Lincolnland Hospice staff will cover all aspects of being a volunteer for the terminally ill. Discover the physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual end-of-life care issues. This training class is to become a Lincolnland Hospice volunteer. Ages 18 and over only please. There will be a break for lunch. CE-ENRC108-31941 will meet Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Martinsville at the Library. This training is free.

To register by phone for classes that begin with a CE prefix, call Admissions and Records (217)-234-5434. You will be sent a statement for payment. The drop date for a refund is five business days prior to the start of the class.
