| The Outside Plant Technician degree prepares the student
for employment in the telecommunication industry working as a field technician.
If the student likes working outside, is self motivated, works well with
others and can also work alone, the Outside Plant associate degree is a
good career choice. The student will receive hands-on training on a wide
range of equipment currently used in the telecom industry such as utility
pole setting truck (digger derrick) operations, fault and cable locating
equipment, T1 and DSL test equipment, signal strength and reflection test
equipment. The student will also learn the skills necessary to install
and maintain both residential and commercial phone equipment. |
