Associate in Engineering Science Degree

The Engineering transfer program has a heavy emphasis on math and science. It is designed to provide a solid basis for work at the junior and senior levels in the various disciplines of engineering. The University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University - Carbondale or Edwardsville require specific minimum GPA's for entry into the various colleges of engineering.

The following is a list of major requirements. Consult a counselor or academic advisor before registering. Four-year college requirements vary from college to college.

1)Engineering students who plan to transfer to Southern Illinois University - Carbondale or Edwardsville should graduate with an associate in science degree. To do that, the general education classes should be changed to reflect the associate in science degree requirements. Other changes are also necessary, consult your advisor.

College Algebra MAT 130 and/or Trigonometry MAT 132 may be needed by some students (placement by assessment test). For transfer to U of I, in the absence of three years of foreign language in high school, three semesters of college level foreign language must also be taken. MAT 255 is not required for all Engineering majors.
