Extracting a Zip File in Windows Vista

The instructions below for creating the zip file are for Windows Vista.

  1. Open My Computer and navigate to the folder that contains zip file you wish to extract.
  2. Double click on folder with the zipper on it.
  3. A folder window will appear. In the bar above the folder view click Extract all files.

  4. The Extraction Wizard screen will appear. By default the file will extracted in the same location but if you wish to extract the file in another location, click Browse and choose a location on your computer. Click Next.

  5. A window will appear showing the progress of extraction the file or files. When finished a new folder window will appear with the extracted file(s).
