Extracting a Zip File in Windows XP

The instructions below for creating the zip file are for Windows XP.

  1. Open My Computer and navigate to the folder that contains zip file you wish to extract.
  2. Double click on folder with the zipper on it.
  3. A folder window will appear. Over to left click Extract all files.

  4. The Extraction Wizard screen will appear. Click Next.

  5. The next screen of Extraction Wizard will appear. By default the file will extracted in the same location but if you wish to extract the file in another location, click Browse and choose a location on your computer. Click Next.

  6. The next screen of the Extraction Wizard will appear. Click Finish. A new folder window will appear with the extracted file.
