Gear up for fall semester at Lake Land College
July 30, 2014
Classes are filling up, but it’s not too late to register for the fall semester at Lake Land College!
Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 25 and the last day to register before classes begin is Friday, Aug. 22. Students can contact Counseling Services at 217-234-5232 or firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information regarding the enrollment process or to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor.
Counseling walk-in hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday through August 21. Friday walk-in hours begin on Aug. 22 with extended registration held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Luther Student Center on campus in Mattoon.
Book pick-up will run from Aug. 20 through Aug. 23. Specific book pick up times are as follows:
1. The student or someone they designate can bring their Lake Land ID and booklist to the campus bookstore beginning Aug. 20.
2. The student may have his/her books shipped via the UPS shipping option found on the booklist site. Booklists will be available Aug. 14.
3. E-mail their booklist as a PDF file to email@example.com requesting their rental books be delivered to any of the three extension centers. If the student wishes to have purchased items sent, they must include contact information and a bookstore clerk will call them for payment information. The student can pick up the books during hours the center is open. The Kluthe Center in Effingham will receive daily book deliveries; the Eastern Region Center in Marshall will receive book deliveries Aug. 19 and 28; and the Western Region Center in Pana will receive book deliveries Aug. 20 and 29.
The Bookstore is located on the south end of the northwest parking lot of the main campus. If students have a credit balance on IRIS, they can use it to purchase books and supplies. Be sure to check your account balance on IRIS before heading to the Bookstore! Financial Aid and voucher transactions must be made by the student on campus.
Lake Land College is among the few colleges and universities across the United States that has a textbook rental system. All students pay a service fee which includes the purchase of textbooks. It is estimated that a full-time Lake Land student may save up to $1200 a year using the textbook library service versus purchasing their books.
Please note that on Aug. 22, all college offices will be closed from 8-10 a.m. Services will resume at 10 a.m. The new student celebration and Welcome Day will be held Aug. 27.
