Easton Corbin to perform for local FFA Chapters at Lake Land College
Country music artist and former FFA member Easton Corbin will celebrate “Year of the Farmer” with local FFA chapters in the Mattoon area on Wed., Dec. 4, at Lake Land College in the West Building on campus in Mattoon. This is a private event for local FFA chapters and is Easton’s first stop at a college campus.
Easton’s visit and concert are part of a year-long “Year of the Farmer” initiative aimed at bringing national attention to the significance of the American farmer launched by Chrysler Group’s Ram Truck brand following its much talked about Super Bowl video.
Following the airing of its two-minute “Farmer” video during the Super Bowl XLVII broadcast in February, the Ram Truck brand declared 2013 “Year of the Farmer.” The year-long initiative was designed to generate $1 million for the National FFA Organization (FFA) in collaboration with Case IH Agriculture, Farms.com and other partners. Easton assisted Ram in delivering the $1 million check to the FFA at the National Convention on Oct. 30.
As a former FFA member, Easton cares passionately about the FFA organization and its mission and has committed to visiting and performing for FFA members in 12 cities along his fall/winter tour route.

“Year of the Farmer” shines a spotlight on the contribution of American farm families through 12 months of programming aimed at raising awareness of and generating funds for FFA hunger relief efforts in local communities across America.
The Ram Truck brand pledged to donate up to $1 million to FFA for views of the “Farmer” video on the brand’s website, www.ramtrucks.com/keepplowing . It took less than a week to reach the 10 million view milestone equating to the $1 million donation.
Easton is partnering with the Ram Truck brand to thank the hard-working and dedicated FFA members for all they do to further the notion that there’s a “farmer in all of us,” and that all of us have a role in reducing hunger issues in America.
