I love the focus on education and the small campus feel.
A 19 year veteran of the beauty industry, I graduated from Lake Land in 2004. I spent several years behind the chair in Effingham, IL offering hair and skin services to my clients. I then furthered my education at USCA in Springfield, IL, graduating with my Cosmetology Teacher Certification. I began my teaching career in 2011 in Peoria, IL. I then managed a large corporate salon/retail location for 2 years before leaving to open my own salon. My love for education never left so I accepted a new position in 2016 and transferred to Urbana, IL where I taught for 5 years. During this time, I began freelancing hair and makeup services with a bridal company and accepted a position as assistant to the company owner. I have worked on several international ad campaigns for major retailers, including Claire's, Icing, Meijer, and Zara. I accepted the position for full time faculty at Lakeland at the end of 2021 and began teaching here in Spring 2022. I am excited that my career has come full circle and brought me back to where my education began!
