The Director monitors all aspects of the TRIO Talent Search Program, has full authority to ensure that the project goals and institutional goals regarding the project are met, and responsible for ensuring that the grant guidelines are followed. The Director is employed 100% under the TRIO Talent Search Grant, operating as TRIO Destination College. At least three years of experience designing, managing or implementing programs for disadvantaged youth required. Demonstrated teaching and/or counseling experience, sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged students, and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds required. Prefer an individual with background similar to the target population and knowledge/experience with Talent Search or other TRiO programs. Minimum of a Master's Degree in School and Community Counseling, College Student Affairs, Social Work, Health and Human Services, or related field required. Annual salary $51,000 per year commensurate with experience. The Information Security Specialist will perform the day to day operations, management and administration (hardware/software/appliance) to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information assets and information technology infrastructures of Lake Land College including but not limited to: firewalls; IDS/IPS; NAC; event log analysis; patch management; anti-virus; perform threat/vulnerability/risk assessments; manage/perform security audits; develop security awareness instructional material and activities; perform or assist with investigations; coordinate the handling and resolution of incidents of a security breach. Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures to ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. Respond to computer security breaches and viruses. Experience with network and/or security related work including design, configurations and implementation planning, information security, incident response and/or security auditing. Newspaper Editor - Student Newspaper

Part-time, Lake Land College. For students at Lake Land College only. The Navigator News is looking for dedicated students willing to grow and create engaging, accurate and timely content for the monthly student newspaper.

Current open positions include:

  • Social Media Manager: Responsible for the Navigator’s social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Some content will include publishing story links, creating engaging captions, monitoring online polls, and more.
  • Business Manager: responsible for preparing advertising opportunities. Work with local businesses to advertise in the Navigator.
  • Copy Editor: responsible for proofreading and editing articles to ensure there are no typos, grammatical errors or AP style mistakes.
  • Reporter: responsible for going out and covering various topics in the Lake Land College community. This position requires employees to interview people, research subjects, write articles, fact check and generate story ideas.
