Visit Lake Land College and find out all the college offers at Laker Visit Day! The event will start in the Luther Student Center Lobby at 9 a.m., running until noon. The event is for potential students who are interested in learning more about Lake Land College, such as touring campus with a student ambassador, meeting with faculty, and learning about student services. A parent/guardian session will be offered.
Join this virtual session to learn more about the high demand field of court reporting and captioning. The new Court Reporting and Captioning program is offered exclusively online and trains students to use a steno machine to capture speech with near complete accuracy. Those who are strong in English and grammar, are detail-oriented, play a musical instrument or are a fast typist or texter will be successful in this program. All are welcome to attend to learn about the exciting opportunities in this career!
The Broadcast Communications department will be hosting an open house on March 25 from noon- 2 p.m. You’ll have the opportunity to check out the College’s student-run FM radio station, WLKL 89.9, The Max Alternative; TV studio and production control room; and professional audio equipment and state-of-the-art camera and video equipment as well as industry-standard digital editing software.
The event will follow the college’s Laker Visit Day which runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
Would you like to learn more about your opportunities within the Math & Science Area of Study at Lake Land College? Join the Lake Land College Math & Science faculty for the 1st annual Math & Science Open House. This event is open to all students including high school juniors and seniors, recent graduates and non-traditional students. It is a great opportunity to learn more about Lake Land math and science academic programs, see hands on demonstrations, and tour our facilities and labs. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. All attendees will start out in the Foundation and Alumni Center.

Brittany Aitken currently works with our adult student population and can assist them with the admissions process.
Brittany is a 2007 alum of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on Fashion Merchandising. During her time at EIU, Brittany was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and served as the VP of Scholarship her senior year. She was also a member of EIU’s Pink Panthers dance team and served as captain her junior and senior years. Brittany resides in Mattoon with her husband, Will, and daughters, Vera and Lola. During her free time, she enjoys remodeling historical homes, baking, kayaking and traveling to anywhere with a beach!

Rachel is a 2020 alum of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. During her time at ISU, Rachel was a member of the club tennis team and a graduate of the honors program. Rachel is a Mattoon native and loves working in the community where she grew up. During her free time, she enjoys exercising, listening to podcasts, and spending time with friends and family.

Denver Daniels is the Coordinator of International Studies and Lake Land College. They work with all current international students on campus, and assists potential students with the admissions process.
Denver is a 2020 alum of Eastern Illinois University with a Master of Science in College Student Affairs. They worked as a graduate assistant at EIU for the duration of their Master’s program in the Office of International Students and Scholars. They also worked as the assistant to the Director of International Studies at Lake Land College during their undergraduate career. Denver enjoys traveling, reading, podcasts, and meeting people from all over the world!
