Renewable Energy Technician (CRT.RENEW)

Help create a better future through the Renewable Energy Technician program! This course will prepare you for entry level positions into the field of renewable energy and technical maintenance. Focus on “green”technologies like wind, photovoltaics, bioenergy and energy efficiency. There is a critical shortage of trained workers with the skills necessary to troubleshoot renewable energy systems.

You can choose from three options:

• Renewable Energy Technology, a two year degree program
• Renewable Energy Management, a certificate focused on renewable energy sales, marketing, management and administration
• Renewable Energy Technician, a certificate focused on renewable energy technology and technical maintenance

The Renewable Energy Technology program provides you with a diverse skill set which will allow you to choose between indoor and outdoor work to enhance your ability to progress within your chosen specialty. Jobs you can qualify for include: Water Conservationist, Biofuel Technician, Sustainability Professional, Energy Auditor, and Wind Technician.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of renewable energy technicians is projected to grow 5 percent until 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Source: bls.gov
