Emergency Medical Services

Developed over a number of years, the Lake Land College Emergency Medical Services Program is one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date programs in Illinois. The EMS program has also received recognition for quality instruction and has received initial accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Admission Requirements

Admission into the program requires a current state of Illinois EMT-Basic license and verification of completion of an anatomy and physiology course.

****Admission may be granted by the program director license pending with verification of passage of the NREMT EMT-Basic examination.

Lake Land College paramedic does not currently have a process in place for advanced placement for students with a current EMT-I, RN or MD certification.

Lake Land College paramedic program does not allow the transfer in of other paramedic courses from other colleges or universities.

Lake Land College does have a board policy 06.14 that allows for course credits for licensure or certifications. The policy allows for prospective students to submit a copy of a current EMT-Basic, or Paramedic license for credits on their transcript.
