Please email or call ahead before visiting our office.  If you are a current student, we are using the “Laker Point Online” course in Canvas to keep you up-to-date on virtual events and offerings. You can also follow us on Facebook: “Lake Land College Student Activity Board,” “Lake Land College Student Government Association,” and “Lake Land College Navigator News.”

The Lake Land College Student Government Association (SGA) is the official group representing the students of Lake Land College. It is a student elected governing board consisting of 8 freshmen and 9 sophomores. Freshmen are elected in the fall semester of the year they will serve, while sophomore positions are elected in the spring semester preceding their term of office the following year. The SGA represents the students in matters of student welfare and activities, college planning and administration, and student opinion. The SGA reviews requests for recognition of student clubs and provides community service, such as blood drives. Student Government Association meetings are open to any student at Lake Land College.

The Purpose of the Student Government Association

  • to act as the official student voice on all matters appropriate to student government concerns
  • represent the interest of the student body of Lake Land College
  • to stimulate, direct and oversee student activities that are deemed beneficial to the education, welfare and growth of the student body and the entire college community
  • to attain and/or maintain sufficient student representation on all student government committees affecting student’s welfare and to ensure student participation in all appropriate decision-making processes of the student government.

The Lake Land College Student Government Association needs people to represent the students or give an insight into the running of the College. Learn firsthand about the governing of the institution. Only with your help can we make Lake Land College a better place for all students.
