Graduation Checklist

The semester before you graduate:

  • Complete a Degree Audit, located in the Laker Hub under Degree Audit / Intent to Graduate to be sure you have completed all required course work.
  • Make an appointment with your advisor or an academic counselor to ensure you have completed all requirements for your major.

At the beginning of your final semester:

  • Submit an Intent to Graduate, located in the Laker Hub under Degree Audit / Intent to Graduate, or in person at the Admissions and Records Office.
  • Get help with your resume, cover letter, and interview techniques from Career Services and become familiar with Lake Land College’s system for posting job notices.
  • Make sure the College has your correct name and address where you want your diploma mailed. This can be done on the Laker Hub under Student IRIS > Demographics or in person at the Admissions and Records Office in the Luther Student Center.
  • Order your cap and gown through your HUB account under Degree Audit & Graduation, Measure for Cap and Gown.

Your final week:

  • Pick up your cap and gown.
  • Return your textbooks.
  • Pay any remaining balances.
  • Complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling if you received a student loan.
  • Attend Commencement Practice Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 pm in the Field House.
  • Attend graduation.
  • Return cap and gown.
  • Receive your diploma via mail approximately 6-8 weeks after graduation.

Note: If you lack 10 or fewer credits for graduation and will complete these hours in the summer term, you may attend commencement in the spring prior to completing summer courses or in the following spring.  If you graduate in the fall, you may participate in the following spring commencement.
