Child Care Resources & Referral
Child Care Resources and Referral (CCR&R) is provided through the Eastern Illinois University School of Family and Consumer Sciences. CCR&R offers referrals of child care providers to parents and families and assists families in paying for child care.
Crisis Nursery
Crisis Nursery of Effingham County provides protection from and prevention of childhood trauma, abuse and neglect through 24 hour emergency shelter care to children birth through six. Crisis Nursery offers a unique and nurturing space equipped with safe hands and open hearts to all children and families in need.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers
Crisis Pregnancy Centers offer pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, verification for WIC and Medicaid, education and information, counseling and support, and referrals for other community services. All are free of any charge. All medical services are provided by licensed medical personnel. All other services are provided by trained client advocates.

Safe Havens
The Illinois Safe Haven Law offers a safe, legal option to unsafe infant abandonment. An unharmed newborn up to 30 days old may be safely relinquished to staff at hospitals, police or staffed fire stations, or emergency care facilities, no questions asked.
