What type of degree can I get at Lake Land College?

Lake Land College offers over 150 Associate degree and certificate opportunities. We also have many degrees that will transfer to 4-year universities.

I am not seeking a degree, but want to take a couple of classes for my job or to enrich my personal life?

We provide different opportunities to invest in increasing skills on all levels. We provide Community Education courses, IDOT Quality Management Training courses, and Professional Development courses just to name a few. Please visit our ‘Academics and Training’ menu to see what all is available.

I’m currently in high school, but want to take a couple of classes. Where do I start?

If you are currently in high school, you will want to contact your High School Counselor for more information about enrolling in Dual Credit courses and also visit our Dual Credit website.

I would like to take courses, but cannot come in person. Do you have online courses?

Yes, we offer online courses. We also offer 12 online certificate programs, 4 online associate degree programs, and 13 online-flex associate degree programs where the majority of classes are online. View the Online Learning page for more information.

Is there a fee to apply for admission?

No, there is no fee to apply for admission.

Can I visit campus?

You can visit campus daily, on Laker Visit Days, or virtually. For more information, please visit our website.

How much does it cost to attend Lake Land College?

How can I pay for college?

There are many different ways to pay for college. Enrolling in Financial Aid, applying for scholarships, and setting up a payment plan are just to name a few. Please visit our ‘Paying For College’ menu to view the options or view the Financial Aid site for more information.

I’m not sure what major I want to enroll in. Can I speak with a counselor/advisor?

Yes, our Counseling Services department is here to assist you. They can serve you in person on campus, via phone, and via email. For more information, please visit the Counseling Services website.

I have a learning disability. Is there assistance available?

Yes, we provide assistance to those with learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities. Please visit our Disability Accommodations site to see what is available.

I’m a veteran. Are there special programs or services available to me?

Thank you for your service! Our veterans are very important to us. We provide assistance in answering your questions and directing you to other college support services. Please visit our Veterans website to see what services are available and who to contact to get started.

Is there housing available or transportation services provided?

We do not provide housing, but you can check out local listings that we are listed on our Housing website*. Transportation systems are not provided by Lake Land College, however, you can check out the listings provided on our website*.

Are there clubs or activities held that I could participate in?

We have more than 30 clubs based on academic majors, special interests and social activities. If you don’t see a club you want to join and have an idea for one, you can create your own! Student Activity Board also provides fun or helpful events every Wednesday (main campus) and Thursday (Kluthe) during the Fall and Spring semesters. Is there a calendar I can look at to see what events or activities are taking place?

Yes, you can find our calendar here. You can also download an event you find to your own calendar so you don’t lose track of it.

I’m going to be attending an event, but I don’t know where exactly to go. Is there a map available?

Maps for all Lake Land College building and a main campus map can be found visiting our maps page.

I’m an alumnus or have take one class or more. I need a transcript. Where can I go to get that ordered?

You can order your transcript through our website using a service called Parchment.
