Faculty statement/Why do you like teaching at Lake Land College?

As a former student at Lake Land, I know the impact my instructors had on me. Now, as an instructor, I am lucky to interact with students in the same way; I hope my students leave Lake Land with the same positive memories I did.  

Research interests, Specializations, and Background

I enjoy using both localized topics and pop culture as the focus of writing assignments, and I emphasize the process of writing (versus the final product). In the literature courses, I use the works as a "vehicle" to help students understand themselves--and others--more fully.
