Beginner Course
What is this program about?
Forklifts and other powered industrial trucks are powerful, heavy duty tools. Tools used to save time, effort and money. Unfortunately these attributes also make them dangerous. Especially when untrained individuals attempt to operate them. For this reason, OSHA established its Powered Industrial Truck Standard to prevent this. The regulation requires workers to receive training in the safe operation and maintenance of this equipment before they can be certified to use it in their workplace. The program should demonstrate the capabilities and limitations of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks and provides the fundamental knowledge on safe operating practices and maintenance procedures.
