Safe Passages Program


Addicts of drugs or alcohol can come to the Taylorville Police Department during all hours to ask for help.  Drugs and drug paraphernalia can be turned in and the person WILL NOT be arrested or charged with a crime.  The Safe Passages personnel will do a brief, confidential assessment and will locate a bed in an inpatient facility for immediate entry.  Transportation to the facility is provided.  Individuals are free to leave at any time and are not placed into custody.  The Taylorville Police Department is located at 108 West Vine Street, Taylorville.  Phone: Coordinator of Safe Passages:  217-638-3247 or Chief of Taylorville Police:  217-824-2211.
