Bidding Requirements

General Bidding Guidelines

As directed by Lake Land College Board of Trustees policy, formal bids are required for the purchase of all items costing in excess of $25,000 for goods and services or for construction. A bid advertisement will be posted in a district newspaper at least ten business days prior to the bid due date for any goods or construction services. All bids must be sealed by the bidder to be opened at a place and time of the College’s choosing. Bids received after the date and time indicated in the bid advertisement will not be accepted. Oral, telephone, electronic mail or facsimile bids will not be accepted.

Obtain bidding documents from this website, or at the office of the Vice President for Business Services in the Board and Administration Center on the campus of Lake Land College, 5001 Lake Land Boulevard, Mattoon, IL.

The Board of Trustees reserves the right to waive irregularities and reject all bids or parts of bids.

Successful bidder shall have the sole responsibility of complying with all aspects of existing Prevailing Wage Policies.

Lake Land College actively promotes continuing economic development in compliance with the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575) . Successful Prospective Vendors shall have the sole responsibility of complying with all aspects.

From time to time the College may request proposals for goods or services. Request for Proposal (RFP) documents will be advertised, distributed and received in the same manner as competitive bids. The College shall not be bound to accept any proposals submitted.
