Pre-Veterinary Medicine (AA.PVET)
Begin your journey into animal healthcare with the Pre-Veterinary Medicine program. Develop your skills by completing coursework focused in mathematics and science in addition to required general education courses. This program will prepare you for transferring to a university to earn a bachelor’s degree in animal science.

Hands On Experience
Specific suggested electives include beef and dairy production skills or been and swine artificial insemination courses. Job shadowing experiences with a licensed veterinarian are encouraged for Pre-Veterinary Medicine majors.
Transfer Options
As a graduate from this program, you will be able to:
- Transfer to a university such as the University of Illinois to earn a bachelor’s degree of science in animal science with a Pre-Veterinary Medicine concentration
- Meet requirements for the Pre-Veterinary Medicine concentration at Eastern Illinois University
