This Fall has been a semester for the history books for our Laker Athletics teams! From big team wins to impressive individual performances, our teams and athletes have given Laker fans plenty of reason to cheer!

Women’s Cross Country

In just its first year of competition, the Lakers Women’s Cross-Country team won the 2025 Region XXIV Championship and advanced to Nationals. There, the team finished 20th out of 40 teams, proving they belong alongside some of the most accomplished teams in the nation. Freshman Brooke Koelm from North Clay High School finished 21st and was named an All American.

Volleyball

For the first time since 2014, The Lake Land College Volleyball team clinched the 2025-2026 Region XXIV Championship. The Lakers clinched the championship with an upset win over the top-seeded Vincennes University team, which was looking for its fifth consecutive Region XXIV Championship title. Following the Region XXIV triumph, the Lakers Volleyball team played in Midwest District A Tournament, where they advanced all the way to the semi-final round.

Basketball

Basketball season returned to Lake Land in November, with the Men’s basketball team defeating the Bulldogs of Richard J. Daley College to take their first game of the Laker Basketball Classic. Meanwhile, the Women’s Basketball team has started the season strong, most recently defeating the Black Hawk Braves to improve to 3-1 on the year.
