Beginning Fall 2026, Lake Land College will be hosting free monthly STEM nights at the Effingham Technology Center, giving community members of all ages the chance to enjoy hands-on activities with high-tech educational equipment.

The first Lake Land College STEM night will be held on Wednesday, August 5 from 5-7 p.m. The first event will focus on video game development, with in-depth instruction and demonstration led by Lake Land College staff.

All attendees will also get to practice coding and design their very own video games. Attendees can also bring a flash drive to save and take home their games.

The event will take place in the Lake Land College Innovation Center on the first floor of the Effingham Technology Center. Registration is not required to attend the event.
