About the Effingham Technology Center
The Lake Land College Effingham Technology Center is a 100,000-square-foot innovative, modern center that anchors the College’s service to the Effingham region. Enjoy the full Lake Land College experience close to home in this state-of-the-art hub for learning and innovation. In addition to Lake Land College’s premiere Allied Health programs, general education classes and Adult Education opportunities, the facility is home to key business and educational partnerships. Lake Land College is committed to strengthening local businesses and community partners.
As high school juniors and soon to be seniors, you may have already taken, or soon will experience taking a Lake Land College (LLC) dual credit class through your high school. Taking a Lake Land dual credit class allows you to take a college level class and receive college credit for the class, while also using the credits to satisfy high school graduation requirements. While some of you have already been a Lake Land student, we now invite you to visit your local Lake Land College Effingham facility and become acquainted with other college faculty and staff.
About Laker Day at ETC
All high school juniors from your school are invited to attend a special event at the Effingham Technology Center (ETC) in March. During the event you will be able to receive information about programs offered at Lake Land College and the Effingham Technology Center (ETC), dual credit classes, transitioning to college, possible careers, plus many more choices! We will answer your questions about the entire college process.
On the day of the event, Lake Land College staff will either greet students at their high schools to distribute student schedules or you will pick up your schedules when you arrive at the Effingham Technology Center. After you arrive at the Effingham Technology Center, you will attend two standard sessions and three or more student choice sessions. The standard sessions will give you valuable information about the entire college enrollment process, no matter which college you choose.
Standard Sessions
Allied Health Students will hear about career and educational opportunities available in the area and at LLC, and get to see our new labs in action.
Innovation Time: Learn about Robotics, 3D Printing, Constructions Trades in our Virtual Reality lab and Maker Space.
Student Services: Students will learn about Enrollment, Financial Aid, TRIO, Academic Support, Perkins, and just about anything else that would be important.
