Professional Development at the Center for Business and Industry offers continuing education seminars at Lake Land College for area professionals. Licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Regulation, we provide CE courses for Accountants, Dental Hygienists, Cosmetologists, Nail Technicians, Estheticians, and Massage Therapists. Seminars are offered year-round to help professionals stay current, meet licensure requirements, learn new methods and technologies, and connect with others in their field.
As local businesses continue to grow and expand, so does technology, at an enormous rate. Keeping up to date with the technology boom is vital to businesses that want to remain competitive in today’s market. The Center for Business and Industry provides computer software classes as well as business solutions to help.
The Center for Business and Industry coordinates the Paraprofessional Program to help students apply for a paraprofessional (teacher aide) license. Students start by meeting with a facilitator to complete an application, receive a testing checklist, take a pre-test, and get a study guide. When ready, they return to take the test online. After passing, they submit their scores to the Illinois State Board of Education to apply for licensure.
