Federal Work Study Available Positions

Adult Education
Assist Adult Education staff with various tasks, including filing, data entry, copying materials, and answering telephone. (up to 10 hours per week.)



Automotive Department
Set up, organize, and clean lab areas. Inventory and organize tool boxes. Keeping tools charged and ready for classes. (Up to 10 hours per week)



Campus Food Pantry
Stock shelves and assist students who visit the pantry. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



Career Services
Assist in posting jobs online and around campus, preparing presentation materials, answer phones, and other office duties as needed. (Up to 10 hrs per week)



Counseling Services
Assists Counselors and Counseling Services Administrative Assistant in the operations of the Counseling Services department. Assist with directing telephone and in-person student traffic. Assist with the maintenance of office files and records. Prepare office correspondence and bulk mailings. Assist with the coordination of presentation, course and orientation materials. Assist with the coordination and administration of other special projects. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



Early Childhood Education
Assist with the miscellaneous office duties, construct/develop developmentally appropriate projects for children.



IT Department - Application Programming
Basic tech support. Maintaining website functions. Other duties as needed. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



IT Department - Desktop Support
Depending on skill set, laptop imaging and general troubleshooting. Basic tech support. Data entry as needed. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



IT Department - Digital Media
Provide basic support for the use of audio-visual equipment, computers and printers. Other duties as needed. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



Navigator Student Newspaper
Assist the Navigator, Lake Land College's student-run newspaper, with general functions. Must be able to assist with organizing the office, writing stories as needed, distributing the paper each month, and archiving each issue. (Up to 10 hours per week)



Radio TV
Assist with various duties within the Radio/TV department. Assist with moving/storing equipment. Input data into computers. Organize and clean various areas. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



Student Life
Assist with Student Life projects and initiatives, in particular: Processes, communications and events for Student Government Association, Student Activity Board, student newspaper, National Society for Leadership and Success and student clubs.Provide customer service and assistance to all students, staff and guests either in person, over the phone or via email. Other duties as assigned. (Up to 10 hours per week. Must be available Wednesdays from 11am-1pm.)



Student Success Services
Assisting with greeting and provide customer service for students, staff and faculty. Assist in answering phones for switchboard, covering during breaks and lunches, data entry and other clerical duties. Be able to direct students to the appropriate departments. Assisting students with placement testing and monitor them while testing. Assist with other duties as assigned. (Up to 10 hours per week)



TRIO Student Support Services
Assist TRIO staff with various tasks including filing, data entry, copying material, and answering telephone. (Up to 10 hours per week.)



Welding Technology
Duties would include cutting weld coupons using various shop machinery, unloading, putting away, and inventorying material. General lab cleaning as needed as well. (Up to 10 hours per week.)
