Application Calendar and Application Deadlines
Our academic calendar includes two 16-week semesters, as well as one 8-week summer term.
- Fall Semester: mid-August to mid-December
- Spring Semester: mid-January to mid-May
- Summer Term: mid-June to early August

Expenses
Tuition and fees for international students are $447.16 per credit hour. Note: The Board of Trustees reserves the right to change tuition and fees without notice. Federal financial aid is not available.

Tuition and fees are due at the midterm of each semester. A small finance charge per week is applied to any unpaid portion past the due date. The college accepts cash, checks, and credit cards for payments made in person, and allows credit card payments online. International students are eligible for scholarships available to all students through the Lake Land College Foundation after the first semester.
Application Requirements
- Submit an online International Application at https://www.lakelandcollege.edu/international-studies-program/international-student-application/.
- Submit electronically a copy of your high school transcripts and transcripts from any colleges attended.
- Submit electronically a copy of your current passport showing legal name.
- Send by mail an original completed financial affidavit form along with an original supporting bank statement (more information below).
- A TOEFL Score of 61 (ibt) or IELTS Score of 6.0 (Academic Module) or iTEP Score of 4.0 (Academic), if you come from a non-English speaking country and do not wish to enroll in our Intensive English Language program prior to enrolling in your academic classes.
Financial Affidavit
The financial affidavit can be found on our website at https://www.lakelandcollege.edu/international-studies-program/ under “Application Process”. This form must be filled out in its entirety and certified/signed by whoever will be sponsoring your education financially. Your sponsor must also get the form signed by their employer and a bank official. The original form must be mailed to our office. No copies will be accepted. You must also submit an original bank statement for your sponsor that shows an available balance equivalent to $18,500 USD. This is the cost for one year of tuition, fees, housing, mandatory student health insurance, and other costs associated with studying at Lake Land College. You should expect to spend $18,500 per year while studying at Lake Land College. On-campus jobs or scholarships can be very difficult for international students to find, so you should plan on not having the assistance of either of those.
English Proficiency Requirement
If you come from a non-English speaking country and do not wish to enroll in our Intensive English Language program prior to enrolling in academic classes, a test result of ONE of the following should be submitted:
- TOEFL: 61 ibt or 500 pbt
- IELTS: IELTS Academic Module of 6.0
- iTEP: iTEP Academic of 4.0
If you do not meet these scores, you will be placed into our Intensive English program.
Housing
Student apartments are available within walking distance (about 5 minutes by walking) from campus through cooperation with a private company. Although there is no on-campus housing, the International Studies Program can assist you with locating housing options such as the student apartment complex adjacent to campus. It is your responsibility to make the final arrangements.
Orientation
All new international students are required to attend the New International Student Orientation held the week before classes begin each semester. This New Student Orientation includes registration, Intensive English placement, important information about the college and community, health care, adjusting to the American culture, and maintaining your F-1 visa status.
Health Insurance
All international students are required to show proof of medical insurance before they are allowed to enroll in classes. Students can bring a plan from home, provided it will cover them while in the United States. Otherwise, students will be asked to purchase the Lake Land College-approved plan.
Conditional University Transfer Admission
Lake Land has partnerships with nearby universities. These partnerships make the transfer process very clear and simple! These universities will provide conditional admission for international students who transfer from Lake Land College after earning the Associate’s degree and meeting general admission criteria:

After you have been admitted to Lake Land College, you can request to receive a letter of conditional transfer admission to one of the above universities.
