2026 Spring Art Show Winners Announced

Lake Land College recently hosted its fifth annual Spring Art Show. The show included a total of 87 submissions from students, staff, faculty and artists throughout the Lake Land community.

All submissions were displayed from April 20-24 in the Luther Student Center, where spectators could view the submissions and vote for their favorites. The top-voted pieces received awards during a closing ceremony on April 24, where four award categories – 3D Art, 2D Art, Written Art and Audio/Visual Art – were presented with separate recognitions for student, staff and community submissions in each category.

The student award winners were Kyra Hazelton, Effingham, who received the 2D Award for “Siske” and the Written Award for “Well, Shoot,” and Andi Harrison, Martinsville, who received the 3D Award for “Iridescent Roses.”

For Lake Land College staff awards, Perkins Specialist Joy Kaurin, Charleston, received the 2D Award for “Moab.” The 3D Award was presented to Dean for Workforce Solutions & Community Education Chris Strohl, Neoga, for “Clara’s Heart.” IEL Instructor Bells Kegerreis, Mattoon, received the Audio/Visual Award for “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – The Last Stand.” The Written Award was presented to Student Success Specialist Breanna Moore for “The Prince and The Blood-Red Beast.”

Ozzy Gough, Ashmore, received the Community 2D Award for “God’s Creation.” The Community 3D Award went to Wesley McCoy, Neoga, for “Handcrafted Intarsia Lion.” Roxy Shelton, Strasburg, received the Community Written Award for “Reality Closing to Open Another.”
