IDHS-DRS Director Rahnee Patrick Visits Campus

Lake Land College welcomed Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Rehabilitation Services (IDHS-DRS) Director Rahnee Patrick for a special visit to campus on Monday, September 29.
During the event, Patrick met with Lake Land College students, staff and faculty to discuss the vital role of accessibility, equity and disability awareness on college campuses and throughout the local community. She led multiple forums throughout the visit, where she shared wisdom gained throughout her life and facilitated open conversation with students and staff.
As the Director of the IDHS-DRS, Patrick specializes in helping individuals with disabilities, managing key resources and services to help them achieve their employment, educational and personal goals. During her visit to Lake Land, she provided guidance and advice on how to advocate for those with disabilities and ensure campus is a space that is accessible to all.
“It was an honor to welcome Director Patrick and the DRS team to campus. This was an incredible opportunity for our students and staff to connect and collaborate with a remarkable leader in accessibility,” said Jamie Corda-Hadjaoui, Dean of Enrollment and Student Success. “We are grateful for Rahnee and her team for taking the time to spend the day at Lake Land in conversation and connection with staff and students. I am especially appreciative of Rahnee’s authenticity, the empowerment she offered and her enlightening insights to the history of civil rights for individuals with disabilities. We are inspired to work toward a more equitable and accessible future for all.”
