TRIO Student Support Services Leads Educational Nashville Trip
Published on September 5, 2025
The Lake Land College TRIO Student Support Services program recently led an educational trip to Nashville, giving students a chance to visit nearby universities and explore options for continued education after graduating from Lake Land.
During the trip, several TRIO students had the opportunity to visit Vanderbilt University and Middle Tennessee State University. These visits included guided tours around each campus, where students were able to learn about available programs, transfer opportunities and student life.
“Our mission in TRIO is to help students excel during and beyond their time at Lake Land College,” said Lori Ohnesorge, Director of TRIO Programs. “These opportunities are so valuable to help our students discover opportunities to continue their education and to set them on pathways for continued success after graduating from Lake Land.”
Students also enjoyed many Nashville sights and attractions during the trip, including a tour of RCA Studio B, a visit to the Country Music Hall of Museum, a live show at the Grand Ole Opry and more.
TRIO Student Support Services is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and helps students in need complete their academic goals and graduate from Lake Land College. Under this program, students receive individual support, access resources and enjoy exclusive educational, social and cultural opportunities led by TRIO counselors and advisors.
