Space Available in Effingham Section of Basic Nursing Assistant Program

A few seats are still available in the Effingham section of the Lake Land College Basic Nursing Assistant Program (BNA).

The Lake Land College BNA program provides students with the fundamental skills necessary to start a nursing career. Students in the program receive in-classroom instruction, master their skills with hands-on laboratory training and gain real experience in clinical settings. Students who successfully complete Lake Land’s BNA program will be eligible the Illinois Department of Public Health Competency Evaluation to become qualified to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

All courses in the Effingham section of the Lake Land BNA program will be held in the College’s new Effingham Technology Center, located at 1201 Althoff Drive. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. beginning Tuesday, August 26.

Students interested in joining the BNA program for the Fall 2025 semester must register by Wednesday, August 13. Students can get started online at LakeLandCollege.edu/apply. For questions, contact Counseling Services at 217-234-5232 or counsel@lakelandcollege.edu.

An important informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 19 for all new Lake Land College BNA students. Two meeting options are available that day at 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Both meetings will be held at Lake Land College’s in Neal Hall room 102 at the Lake Land College campus in Mattoon, located at 5001 Lake Land Blvd.
