Welcome Week 2026: Celebrate the New School Year!

Lake Land College will celebrate the start of the new school year by hosting Welcome Week, an event designed to help new and returning students settle into life at Lake Land and prepare for a successful year.
Welcome Week will begin the week before classes start and continue into the first week of the Fall semester, with activities and events offered Tuesday, August 18 through Saturday, August 22 and Monday, August 24 through Thursday, August 27.
Welcome Week will include a combination of fun and informative activities, including campus tours, information tables, games, giveaways and food trucks. The activities are designed to help students familiarize themselves with life at Lake Land as they meet with staff and faculty, make new friends, discover helpful resources, pick up their textbooks and familiarize themselves with campus.
The activities will conclude on Wednesday, August 26, with a campus-wide celebration known as Welcome Day. Organized by the Lake Land College Student Activity Board, Welcome Day will be hosted in the College’s Field House and will include free lunch, games, giveaways and a wide range of information on student clubs and other opportunities for campus involvement.
For students taking classes in Effingham, an exclusive Welcome Day event will be held at the Lake Land College Effingham Technology Center on Thursday, August 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
