Tips to get the Most Out of a Job Fair:
- Know before you go. Review the list of attending employers and the positions they are hiring for to decide if the fair is a good fit for you
- Dress professionally. Dress as you would for a job interview. Conservative, professional attire makes a strong first impression
- Bring your materials. Bring Several copies of your resume and transcripts, along with any supporting documents that highlight your skills and experiences.
- Have a plan. Identify which employers you want to speak with and plan your strategy. Warm up by talking with a few organizations before approaching your top choices
- Be professional and engaged. Employers are evaluating you, but remember — you are also evaluating them. Consider whether each organization aligns with your goals and interests.
- Take notes and follow up. Write down contact names and key details from your conversations. This information will be helpful when sending thank-you notes or follow-up messages.

While there is no official cutoff, Parker-Dewey is designed to support early-career professionals and those exploring a career transition. These opportunities are best suited for current students, recent graduates , and alumni seeking to gain experience or pivot into a new field.

Career Services provides job and internship support to current students, community members, and alumni. Whether you are a students looking for part-time work while taking classes, a soon-to-be graduate seeking full-time employment, or a community member or alumnus exploring a career change, we’re here to help.
Stephanie, our Career Readiness Coordinator, can guide you through your job search, including finding and applying for jobs, printing materials, and updating or creating employment documents.

Laker Work Internship
Lakers Work provides students with meaningful on-campus employment designed to foster professional growth, develop career readiness, and enhance workplace competencies. Interns support Student Services operations through tasks such as event planning, data entry, communication, and collaboration with staff and students.
The Lakers Work Internship is designed to connect Laker Learning Competencies with the NACE Career Readiness Competencies, ensuring that students develop essential skills for both college and career success
