Find ways to help your community first-hand through the Paramedical Services program! Paramedical Services is an intensive program that includes classroom, skills laboratory, hospital and field clinical experiences. The invaluable skills you will learn in the Paramedical Services program can be applied to several occupations such as clinics, ambulance services, fire departments, hospitals, and factories. Work with instructors in person while engaging with state of the art learning tools like augmented reality goggles and high fidelity mannequins. You will also get the chance to learn in a full-size ambulance for training.

The EMS program has also received recognition for quality instruction and has received initial accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

High Demand Field

Employment of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics is projected to grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations according to the National Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov).

Hands On Experience

The classes will cover the Illinois state objectives as well as experience and real-world scenarios targeted toward local settings. You will even be given the opportunity to train on the equipment in their respective stations, allowing them to gain knowledge and skills specific to their situations.

The program incorporates a full sized training ambulance for real world simulation as well as high fidelity mannequins and our new addition augmented reality goggles. You will complete clinical opportunities in a variety of patient care settings alongside trained preceptors. You will also complete certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
