At Lake Land College, we value YOU and your success as a college student. We designed new student orientation to give you the knowledge you need to have a successful start to your first semester as a Lake Land Laker.

Step 1: Choose Your Orientation Format

Option 1: Complete Canvas Course, then Schedule Appointment

Want a flexible option? Learn about Lake Land College resources through an online canvas course, then schedule an appointment to come campus to meet with an academic counselor who will help you plan your classes. This option allows you to work at your own pace and spend less time on campus.

Option 2: In Person Presentation

Join us for a live presentation on Lake Land College resources from our Laker staff and meet with an academic counselor to plan your classes. Presentation is typically an hour long followed by an appointment with an Academic Counselor.

Did you send in your SAT/ACT Scores?

If yes, use this link: https://bookings.cloud.microsoft/book/OrientationAppointmentRegistrationDay@lakelandcollege.edu/?ismsaljsauthenabled

If you have not sent in SAT/ACT scores you will have the opportunity to take our Placement test on your Advisement and registration day. Please use this link: https://bookings.cloud.microsoft/book/OrientationwithTestingandRegistrationDay@lakelandcollege.edu/?ismsaljsauthenabled

Step 2: Attend your Advisement and Registration Day

This is your last step towards becoming an official Lake Land Laker! During your advisement and registration day, you will:

  • meet in person with an academic counselor
  • get advised on first semester coursework
  • register for classes and learn how to navigate your online student portal, the Laker Hub

Who will participate in new student orientation?

New students with no previous college coursework beyond high school and plan to seek a degree or certificate of 24 or more hours will participate in new student orientation. Lake Land College also requires ACT/SAT or placement test scores on file. Information about requesting scores is available on the ACT and SAT websites. Scores are required for placement in appropriate courses to ensure academic success.
