Lake Land College will be hosting its annual Career Day event on Tuesday, October 7.

Lake Land College Career Day is designed for high school juniors and seniors to learn about local, rewarding career pathways. Every year, Lake Land welcomes approximately 1,200 high school students across 25 school districts to campus for the event.

At Career Day, high school students throughout the Lake Land College district can choose from more than 150 sessions to attend that cover a wide range of career fields. Sessions are available in various lengths of time, spanning either 20 or 50 minutes to provide basic or in-depth looks at high-demand careers in agriculture, health care, business, information technology, cosmetology, humanities and arts, communications, math, science, engineering, education, criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, political science, history, automotive, construction, technology, leadership, success in college and more.

“This event is the perfect place for students to ask questions, learn about careers and receive insightful guidance from local professionals in their respective careers,” said Peighton Hinote, Coordinator for Student Communication & Initiatives.

An Illinois Regional College Fair will also be available on campus as a part of the event. Held from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., the College Fair will provide students the opportunity to meet with representatives from nearly 50 colleges and universities across the nation to learn about available majors, admissions requirements, financial aid, student life and more. Students may choose to attend the College Fair before or after their scheduled sessions, or they may choose to register for the College Fair as one of their selected sessions to spend more time exploring this component of the event.
